He might know lots about animation, he doesn't know anything about useable website design.

Just an untested suggestion: If you really have to put objects which must not move between the layers of your moving characters, you could try and create an orphan bone and bind the whole layer to it via layer binding. Hm ... I wonder what happens if I create more than one bone on the bone root leve...

Intel Macs shouldn't be a problem since I had installed Moho on one at work and already did some stuff. But I can test again, maybe today.

Director still exists, but even I who preferred it over flash haven't used it for serious work for years now. Part of an explanation would be that most applications wan't to go online, and there Flash is the leader through its small files and the nearly 90% installed base of their player/plugin. So ...

You already got it - any editing of video must be done in a separate program prior to importing it into Moho/AS.

.anme files open in AS - they start AS, to be precise, but then only the darn startup scene shows up ... have to close it and open the file again.

The efrontier page just leads to a generic efrontier page - there's nothing to download, at least no papagayo. Am I blind?

I don't prefer one over another, I'd rather choose the best program for the task. Usually I use a combination of tools, Moho, Mirage, Flash, Photoshop (of course!), After Effects, and even Director. If I ever need to do morphs again, I could even dig out Elastic Reality ...

Over there in the http://www.bauhaussoftware.com/forum/ they often discuss animation on a very general level. Mirage is a pixel-based program, and it's always worth to know the "other side".

A scrolling background should be as wide as possible, and in one file since that is the easiest way to handle. (The animated camera in Moho is the feature I really like, I use it even for rendered output from Mirage because its so much easier to control ...) If you want to use a repeating background...

Unfortunately this is still an issue in 2006 for several software packages, operating systems, and network/server-combinations. *sigh*

There's the workaround to use 7-bit-ASCII only for filenames, but it constantly annoys me.

BBC animation about Charles Dickens

Charles Dicken's life in a perfect cutout style - could have been done in Moho ... I never ever thought of Flash being able to look so nicely victorian.

Short answer: you can't extract a voice track from a complete recording with music and stuff, not even with the kind of gadgets they seem too use in CSI and NCIS. Workaround: Just sing the track yourself. Put the original on headphones with low volume, record your own voice only. It doesn't matter i...

You can't compare Mirage and Moho feature-wise. I use both, and decide which of them by the nature of the current job to be done. They complement each other which is a Good Thing. To decide between both of them is only important to artists who want to use (or can afford) only one program, this of co...
