Well, it's done ... but I would rather call it a "proof of concept" than a finished head turn. If I were the director I wouldn't approve the scene unless the hair stops moving on its own ...

This is really nice stuff, and fun to watch. I'd recommend it to others who worry about head turns and stuff quite a lot: but you show that one can perfectly do without that.

Convincing head turns are among the most difficult tasks in animation, especially for a beginner. You could tackle down the problem if you split it into several smaller parts: Do the head turn in drawing on paper first. Do it often. Flip the drawings, or scan them in and let them run in sequence so ...

Even with the doubled price compared to the Lostmarble price I think AS is a damn cheap peace of useful software - and I'm not going to ever use any piece of the content which it is bunlded with right now.

If I checked correctly, efrontier isn't offering any free demo download of AS in the moment like Lostmarble did with Moho before. IMO this is a major marketing flaw. Last week at an animator's meeting in Berlin there were again several people interested in trying AS, of which I bet 50% would get hoo...

Font handling in Mac OS X is a nightmare, and users around the world have sworn whole volumes over it. Helper applications like suitcase may help a bit, but only to a certain extent. I don't do any font work in Moho, for this Flash is much better equipped. But I could test if Moho works with suitcas...

Well, in a way - and it's not as easy as flipping a switch. What I did was doing some animation with a character's bones, then made a copy of that file and erased all vector layers which were attached to that skeleton. Then I created new vector layers and attached them to the bones in frame 0. It wo...

I agree, but testing is something I really can't expect from a one-developer-business. I mean real testing now, on all the different platforms, with all the possible configurations ... that's a really time-consuming process. Hopeflly efrontier will spend the necessary amount of money into serious te...

Because I did the registering and ordering the same evening, I got two mails on the same day: one for registering at CP, one with the receipt for AS.

You should have received a mail by support@contentparadise.com. It contains your new serial number. I wasn't aware of that since it just looked like an ordinary receipt, but the number is in this mail, and mine worked fine.

Have you named the layers inside the switch layer _exactly_ as the phonemes in papagayo?

Ah, the big world of contradicting information.

Here (http://www.astleybakerdavies.com/bk.htm ... y_behind_1) it says that Big Knights was done in CelAction 2D. However, my book says the drawings were created "in the Animo computer". At least it says it was vector artwork.

Arthur Depins - master of 2D style

Slice had mentioned this in another thread (thx!), I like to draw your attention to it because it's really worth it: http://www.arthurdepins.com Have a look at this guy's incredible smooth animation! All the links in the right column, expecially the ones behind the "&" sign, are worth studying. If y...

Just a caveat: while assigning keyboard shortcuts, alwasys bear in mind that non-US keyboards and Mac keyboards have a much different layout especially in special characters and punctuation. It's always a pain in the ass to find essential functions, like zooming in or out, assignt to square brackets...
