Re: PNG vs JPG

If you're on Mac, PNG seem to slow down the system a bit. Not Moho itself, but first time loading and opening takes some time.

Re: First explainer video using Moho

Colours are difficult. I don't mind vibrant colours, but I noticed that the turquoise and light blue people in front of the green giant were too close. Also the whole spot lacks warm colours, it is OK to use "brand colours" but just a spot of red and orange here and there works miracles. One trick I...

Re: Approaching backgrounds?

The most important step is to have a really strong storyboard. Nearly 30 yrs ago it was my task to optimise a storyboard by another artist which asked for much too many backgrounds, and doing the layouts for those new sequences. I was able to cut down the number of BGs to a mere quarter ... Do your ...

Re: First explainer video using Moho

Nicely done. The angular style works well with the smooth movements. Only quibbles:
- the giant's head turns are too slow, this design needs fast ones
- the colours clash.

Re: Moho Pro 13 PNG Import Not Transparent

In PS: create new file. Create new layer. Create something drawn in that layer. Switch off visibility of background layer. Save as PNG.

Re: Animate multiple view position

It doesn't work like that in Moho. You have to remember that a bone layer in Moho only has 2 dimensions. Whatever movement you do in one view will not translate correctly in any other view because in that other view the bone layer is not at a 90° angle to your viewing axis. That's why we do a moveme...

You should be able to download 12.5, install and try?

Re: Adobe Premiere Elements to burn animation to DVD?

No, DVD is a pretty restricted format, IIRC it only accepts MPEG-2 anyway. No fancy codecs for you.

Re: Adobe Premiere Elements to burn animation to DVD?

I think you're screwed - DVD is not really a great format, especially not for animation. Just play that 720x480 file on your PC: depending on the amount of detail, the result is always less than desirable. It may help to apply an overall blur to the video before exporting (like many anime do with th...

Re: Editing in Moho?

Short answer: it never fits, that's why we do the audio stuff in an editing software. There's so many sources of possible mistakes here. Some I did over the years: - not matching frame rates everywhere - having different sample frequencies - cutting audio is sub-frame precise, cutting video only hap...

Re: Editing in Moho?

For a very small and not too complex project it's possible to do everything in one project file in Moho. Put each scene into a group layer and drag them in and out of the screen when needed, or switch visibility. But usually we use an external editor because work is much faster and you'll have more ...

Something I did yesterday evening, after someone liked a very simple drawing of a bird: https://vimeo.com/348123223 348123223 That's what I like about Moho: being able to stir something together in mere minutes. In this case, it also was about integrating watercolour drawings (note the slowly moving...

Re: Adjustable timeline bars

A nifty trick is, when you edit in a video editor, to use its time stretch function on just one cycle. Depending on your rigs, this might be much faster than editing the cycle in Moho.
