Re: Hide frames in timeline

Yes. All objects exist for the duration of the scene/project file, like in any 3D program.

The idea is stupidly simple, the result charming and silly. Could've been done in Moho, of course.

Re: back to basics in point vector construction

slowtiger's example is most probably done with points all on one layer - but there are three separate paths with one "filled with stroke" shape per path Exactly. I wonder if my preferred style of construction comes from my familiarity with constructing figures from cardboard shapes, as did in kinde...

Re: Extreme zooms and pans

Since each layer has its own origin, there never is any conflict.

Re: Extreme zooms and pans

I don't move the camera at all - only the artwork.

Extreme zooms and pans

Since I'm doing this stuff right now, here's a nifty little trick: You know how hard it is to zoom in extremely close to some object while doing a pan at the same time. The camera tool produces strange curves, so I don't use it for that. Instead I put all layers into a top group layer, set the origi...

Re: Poor quality mp4 rendering

The problem for all animation software is that standard video codecs and the whole video framework are provided by the operating system. Windows only has AVI. Mac had Quicktime, which was fine and comfortable - unfortunately it's not continued any more, and they never announced a successor. Professi...

Re: Poor quality mp4 rendering

I'm afraid AVI's the way to go on PC. On Mac I can choose ProRes, and with older Quicktime installed even PNG codec.

Re: Poor quality mp4 rendering

An MP4-encoded video always looses quality. Importing this into some program for editing and exporting again further decreases quality, that's why professionals don't use it as exchange format between applications. Exporting to MP4 is only the final step to deliver video for broadcast or upload. The...

Re: Poor quality mp4 rendering

In a professional workflow you never render to MP4 from an animation program, instead you use a lossless codec (like Apple ProRes) to import the animaion into a video editor where you add sound.

Re: back to basics in point vector construction

I'd never do something that complicated. Here's my solution: 3 shapes, no welding. The inner sleeve shape is just an oval. Outer sleeve has 2 corner points.

Either the eyes layer has some transparency, or something transparent lies on top.

Re: Resume Cycled Action After Keyframing

In something like this I've used 2 bone rigs - one for legs and body, and one for arms. Then I created two walk cycles of same length in each. Doing some waving with the arms now only disrupts one cycle, so I can use the other one as reference to where to start the cycle again.

Have you tried to copy the brush png into the default brush folder?
