I caught a few clips of The Room by chance on YouTube and think that this video really captures it.
The animation isn't stellar but it really fits the song. I watched it all and enjoyed it.

Thank you very much for that explanation! Mediafire chose today to go down for site maintenance so I wasn't able to look at your example Selgin but the instructions you gave really explained what I was doing wrong. I've now just drawn 1 layer for the shadow and set everything in this way: Group (Hid...

Masking inside a bone layer
Hi, I've never really been a big fan of masking but at the moment I'm using it to get a cel shaded look to my characters. I'm now even less of a fan of masking! My problem is that I'm making a 'shadow layer' with 30% opacity that sits on top of each vector layer. It was getting the desired effect un...

Tech Support: Episode 2
Due to moving house, and having no internet for several months, it's taken a while to upload this: Tech Support: Episode 2 http://www.vimeo.com/5512519 I moved the first episode from Youtube to Vimeo as well, the amount of compression on Youtube seems to be getting worse. On the second episode I tri...

Change Action keyframes
Hi all, I've recently been animating a robot character and to make it move suitably robotically I created all of the actions using linear interpolation on the keyframes. After playing around with it, and having him interact with other characters, I've decided to make him move a little cartoony. Squa...

This .pdf file is for an earlier version, but I think that all the shortcut keys still work for Anime Studio.

Thanks for the feedback people, in the end I used a lot of YouTube reference videos (the one that Rudiger posted is especially useful) and even a wooden mannequin. Even though it still needs work I've uploaded a copy of the file here in case anyone finds it useful. The idea of putting the bottom of ...

I'm still not happy with the feet, they bend to the side rather than tilt.
I also think that a switch layer might be a good idea to show the underside of the foot just before it lands on the floor.
But I'm happy with the hip and shoulder swing.

Funny you should mention Saturday morning cartoons from the 60's as I've been watching a lot of Herculoids, Wonder Twins and Filmation stuff lately. I guess it shows. I think that the best idea so far is for me to add a few perspective lines with vanishing point and try to keep everything in proport...
