Personally I'd like to see the hair as an opaque layer, Just to clear up some of the 'busyness' on the face. In other words i think that the hair is a bit confusing to the viewer. Brilliant ...

You should look at the thread on simple "3d" head turns using minimal bones. I think they got it down to 3! It is very similar to what you are doing with the head and I think you would have no trouble figuring out what those guys are doing. I think these guys are trying to create a simpli...
