Hey Squeaky. Good to hear from you! I tried using two legal broadcast colour filters. The one in Adobe Premier Pro completely destroyed all the colours in the whole TVC and same with Media Studio 8. I might try After Effects and see what happens. Thanks.

Thanks Farb. This is amazing, some of the stories I could tell you about the crap I've been put through out here in Australia by the local TV networks makes me wonder why I am still interested in doing animation for Television. The last TVC I made I had one station accusing me of red bleeding colour...

The way it works here is everything must be submitted to the broadcast stations on digital SP beta tape. On top of this I have had a constant battle with several post facilities here who can't make up their mind what format they want. I always supply a Data DVD with an uncompressed .avi, a high qual...

Great. Thanks again Slowtiger. Funny, I've never had any trouble with broadcast colours and animation before, but for some reason i have one client who is freaking out about it.

Cheers

Broadcast Safe Colour Pallette

Has anyone created a PAL broadcast safe colour pallette for Anime Studio?
There is one for NTSC but not for PAL. Would it be safe to use the NTSC pallette for PAL?

Thanks Slowtiger. I just got an answer to this from one of the stations techs as well. I must supply the animation in a DVD format and then they make a copy of it to digital SP Beta tape. Apparently this is when the colour bars are put onto the tape. All I need to do is make sure the colours are bro...

Colour bars for broadcast

Hi. Here's a technical question that has just been put to me. Are you required to put colour bars on animation before sending it to a station for broadcast? If so, how and why. I know the colour bars are used to calibrate a video signal and are usually generated by a camera but what about for animat...

Hey Omni DK...when you mention I might render to image sequences...you mean render individual frames and stitch them together in my editor? ( which currently is iMovie) Yes. You should be able to import an image sequence in most editors. I have just made a TVC with Anime Studio and rendered all my s...

Nice technique Cap. Though, there is still a problem with all of these workarounds as a perfect mouth profile should really form a hollowed out section in the head when in the open position. Getting a switch layer to interact with the head profile in such a way could be very tricky.

Hi Cap. Did you try splitting the mouth switch layer in to 2 halves? I found that you had more control on the way the mouth was distorted with scale rotate this way. For a complete mouth profile just include a seperate profile mouth set inside your switch layer. http://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewt...

Just about any popular video editing software these days include image filters that can make an image ripple effect. This is something that AS does not have. You could use bones to warp your image or create this effect in an external app and import an avi or mov into AS.
