No, the new script is even more specific. You have to set up a skeleton with the same names for the bones as the original bones. So, in essence, the script copies the control layer of your character, not the character itself.

If you see what some theories say about talent, in as far as the brain is concerned, it is about little things, small alterations in patterns. Of course, those are amplified when the brain is functioning at a more abstract level. However, these patterns don't seem to be fixed. The fixation is at the...

Plus, it is a known fact that you shouldn't judge your work while you're creating it. This applies to all creative arts (drawing, writing, programming, etc.). What else is drawing than externalizing what you see with your mind's eye? Anyone who can hold a pencil has more than enough skills to draw, ...

I have 4GB RAM on my 32-bit Windows machine and when I check out its available RAM it only ever reads about 3.2 to 3.3 GB RAM. OMG, MS has dumbed down Windows even more than I imagined! 3 GB, base 1024, is 3.22122546 GB, base 1000. If you can, dump that OS! No one really wants it (zero growth) anyw...

Indeed. I like version 0.4.4b a lot more than the previous version, which was rather buggy.

BTW It is possible to create your own renderfarm, because AS has a commandline option for rendering. Basically, you run several instances of AS on several boxes in your network. Of course, you'll need a license per box, or get a special deal for unlimited seats from Mike (don't know if he does that)...

You could also study how shadows work, by shooting some footage with a cut-out paper doll, and see how its shadow behaves when you do something similar as in your animation. That should give you enough clues to make it convincing.

Perhaps you should also check out this thread over on the Animation Forum: Pencil Test Thread Download the videos from YouTube and study the pencil tests frame by frame. As usual, I was a bit skeptical at first (as you can read in the thread), but the fine animators over there convinced me there is ...

My point is that it isn't available. It's all empty words until you have a working product on the market.

So many good ideas go to waste because they are never implemented.

Ideas (and demos) are cheap. It's the real product that is expensive. If you can see through the wonder and bling of a presentation, there's often not much substance left. Example: every Steve Jobs keynote. Remember that when he keeps his presentation in front of Apple zealots on the WWDC'08, on Jun...

Doesn't tell you something, that no one responds? Either no one is willing to network on a whim, or there is no on to network on this forum. Try one of the social networks (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc.). I doubt you would have much success, though. You need to present yourself better. No one is ...

I think it has to do with the serious bug in the Mac version of AS, where the single frame rendering looked horrible. The bug fix could have been to remove the alpha channel altogether in single frame rendering. Of course, I'm just talking out of the other side of my body here.

Plastic Animation Paper Free as an educational tool

I had to dig up this thread from loooong ago. Now I'm running VMware Fusion, I have suddenly access to all kinds of animation tools. Plastic Animation Paper Free is a great learning tool! Unlike Anime Studio, which lets you rely on vector graphics to draw your poses and inbetweens, you have to draw ...
