Not my idea of easy listening (or easy looking) either, but one must admire these folks. This is a brilliant piece, technically and artistically!

Here's a handy-dandy cheatsheat: http://generalpicture.com/svgdiffuselight.svg Note that (as usual) Opera significantly outstrips Firefox in SVG support. Sometimes when you apply multiple lighting filters to SVG objects, Firefox's ability to render completely shuts down. Opera more reliably shows th...

AND you can change the azimuth and elevation in the SVG code to get varied lighting simulations--front, behind, left, right. You say you want to do cel animation? You owe it to yourself to look into this! Particularly since you can program Firefox to batch load a bitmap sequence and you can probably...

UPDATE the update: I have some good news for using this effect on animation. The Diffuse Light filter is apparently a web standard filter; you can get the same effect inside Firefox! I am pretty confident I can program Firefox to load a PNG sequence into an SVG file containing the filter and call ht...

come back to Inkscape!

Hey folks, just came across this little thing about Inkscape that may be useful to you as you work in Anime Studio, or for that matter, any package that produces 2D animation. The surprising thing (to me) is that Inkscape doesn't just do SVG vectors. Like Anime Studio, it also has some unique filter...

Well, the issue of spam can be a tricky subject--usually it's obvious, but there may be times when one man's spam is another man's info. I liked the book you wrote about independent animation, and I have said so--on this forum, I think it was? You feel that you have something of value to say to this...

I tried morphing my voice track using Audacity and the results were infinitely superior to the voice-morphing program I tried. The Audacity result no longer sounded like me, and yet at the same time was perfectly believable. Some people over at the iClone forum feel the same way about Audacity over ...

Very interesting. If I start using DAZ I'll purchase your "full" version of the document as a way to show my appreciation.

I suspect that one day, perhaps soon, iClone characters will export to DAZ via FBX format. Then iClone characters would be fully toonable.

Bon chance!

pr6, That's an excellent demo. I guess I haven't paid enough attention to DAZ. Sometimes I see references to it, and even to AniMATE, but for some reason, I had not seen many video demos like this. You're getting much better toon shadows than I can. Mine have to be faked by intersecting the characte...

p6r, your results from Daz are nice, very nice indeed.

I agree this is the kind of character people would like to be animating in Anime Studio.

But can you animate?

Here is what I am getting out of iClone now--no post-processing at all.

Looks good, but I tried to import my png sequence made by AS6 and the graphics are downgraded to black and white during import.... Another problem is still that gifs play much slower in my browsers than they do in the software they're created with, but I also had that problem with Animation Shop. D...
