SWF has some restrictions and can't display everything Moho produces. See in the Help file (Moho User's Manual) Reference -> Flash tips. However, you can export to a movie format and import that into Flash MX (I believe FLV is the preferred format for online viewing bitmap material in SWF).

Moho in a database environment

I saw some cool Lua extensions: LuaJava , to interface Lua with Java LuaSQL , to interface Lua with a DBMS (database management system), like MySQL. I guess because Moho supports Lua as well, an authoring system could be built using these tools, where several co-workers could create an animation thr...

Well, if you really want to know, why not ask the creator of the movie how they made it? Their website is partially in English, so there should be someone able to supply you with an answer.

Although I have no aspiration whatsoever to work in the animation industry, I still read about how to get into it; just for the fun of it. Perhaps somewhat related to this topic is the Steve Barr interview, a professional cartoonist. I especially enjoyed reading this part: Once on a trip to New York...

Why not let your OS keep track of the external image file and store an alias of each file close to the Moho file (e.g. in an Alias subfolder). If the Moho file shows a broken link (because the image file has been moved) you simply reload the alias file in the Source Image dialogue. When copying a Mo...

I'm afraid this animation was made in Flash. Googling I found an article on Cold Hard Flash, Russian Easter Egg Spot , referring to an article on Russian Designs, Flash Commercial , which states: Here is a Russian commercial that was done in Flash. I find it very cute. The product is paint and diffe...

Perhaps I should stick to pencil drawing for now. This is all too difficult for me! Perhaps I should elaborate on this. I read most of the tutorial material, but seem to forget most subjects it mentions after a few days. Even after rereading the relevant part of the tutorial the knowledge somehow &...

 I'm very confused. Depth sorting while the perspective of a hand changes from outside-hand-view to inside-hand-view? Making limbs smaller using bone warping? It boggles my mind so much I get headaches. http://www.freespace.nu/files/110_1116057935.gif Perhaps I should stick to pencil drawing f...

@NeepNop: The best I could come up for the hand/ball problem with using switch layers was this: http://www.freespace.nu/files/352_1116003388.gif I used three switch sublayers, each with a layer for the hand, the ball and the fingers: [1] ball behind the hand, [2] ball in front of hand with fingers e...

I saw in my own animations that if you restrict the bone action to rotation (using the Rotate Bones instead of the Manipulate Bones tool), there seem to be no problems exporting to Shockwave Flash.

How do I add perspective into my character

Sure, a Moho character is a flat object, but I've seen some animation drawn in perspective in Preston Blair's Cartoon Animation , and want to know if something similar can be done in Moho without having to rearrange all the relevant points of the character manually (as was done in the test animation...
