Moho in Shazam deleted scene

I see that the director of Shazam has used Moho previously.
Here's a link about a deleted scene from Shazam 2 that he animated in Moho.

Re: Making Animations with AI?

Although I wouldn't use it 'as is' I can see it being useful for generating reference for key poses.

I wonder how well it maps characters with more cartoony proportions.

Re: Finished dialogue scene

That's a really interesting article, thanks for linking to that.

I do intend for this to be part of a longer piece. I like the 'Waiting for Godot' comparison, I'm animating this short with the feeling that it's 'as if Kes was made as a Saturday morning, kids cartoon'...

Finished dialogue scene

This is my first completed dialogue sequence. It's not exactly epic animation, but after noodling around on getting this scene finished, it feels good to have completed something from beginning to end. It's dialogue-heavy, but I still incorporated some keyframe and point animation. The next sequence...

Re: I animated fire... never again!

That's a really clever effect, it looks pretty cool too.
I'm not sure if it fits the rest of the drawing style I used, but I'm definitely going to play around with it for future use, thanks.

I animated fire... never again!

I animated a very short looping clip of a small campfire, and I hope that I never have to again. The technique that I used was to add a keyframe every couple of frames, and then to try and tween to the next keyframe. If I ever try to do this again, I think that I'll skip the inbetweening step, as it...

Short dialogue scene - NSFW dialogue

A short scene from a larger animation I'm working on. I mostly wanted to work on body turns using only point animation. There's NSFW language in the video, I'm going for a dramatic story theme rather than a comedy though. So there's nothing too shocking, the regional accents might be hard to underst...

Re: Animate cigarette smoke without particles

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm on Moho 12 so unfortunately Liquid Shapes aren't an option. I eventually just used a series of shapes on the same 'smoke' layer, but the idea of using bone animation sounds interesting so I might give that a try next time. This is the finished smoke, which is just 3 i...

Animate cigarette smoke without particles

Hi all, I'm trying to animate a moving cigarette, held by a character, and I want it to have a certain look. I've linked an example of what I'm aiming for below, and I don't think that using particles would fit with this look. So I'm guessing that using point animation would be the best option, but ...

This gives an image a flickery 'line boil' effect

So I just tried something tonight that worked out better than expected, and I wondered if I'm reinventing the wheel a little. I loaded a background image that I drew into Moho, but it looked a little flat. I wanted it to have something like line boil happening, but not to a distracting degree. So as...

Re: That 70's hand drawn animated film look

I think that I've settled on the same sketchy style of background art that I used for the bedroom.
I'll post a work in progress here, since I can see this taking a while before it's finished.

Re: That 70's hand drawn animated film look

Thanks for the link, I'll see if I can get some inspiration there. I found the backgrounds more of a problem that the character animation, to be honest. At one point I cut up some newspapers and made a collage, then I scanned it and painted over it in Gimp to make a background. But I wasn't happy wi...

That 70's hand drawn animated film look

So this is my first attempt at animating something substantial in Moho. I last used Anime Studio years ago, but recently got inspired to pick it up again and try and animate a short film in a style that I haven't tried before. This is my first attempt at the intro, I'm aiming for a 70's hand drawn l...

I wrote a tool to convert 12fps animation to 24fps on 2's

So after creating my first animation at 12fps , to simulate a hand drawn look, I realised that the camera pans were jerky and needed to be animated at 24fps. I looked into how to convert my 12fps animation to be "on 2's" at 24fps and it looked a little complicated. I'm a programmer in my s...
