lwaxana, thanks.

that's what i was thinking. the guy is checking. it's a new plasma, so yeah I'm pretty sure he can opt for 4:3.

the thought of going back through and re-encoding and rendering just makes me want to drink....

Crunch time help: 4:3 and 16:9!

Well, the viewing format of my project has just changed to a 55" LCD tv. The entire project has been done in 4:3. I tested it on a 55" LCD and the stretch really made everything look sub-par. I can re-render the whole thing so long as I don't need to really do a lot of changes to my elemen...

Cool. Thanks for the help guys. I'll post back later.

I was wondering, since that avi (that has alpha) had it's only element leave the screen, would that negate the alpha and just revert back to a black screen? I know it's a question for ULead; I was just curious.

yeah, i'll try that.

i tried alpha/no-alpha with no success. no problems ANYWHERE with masking settings, opacity, etc.

if i kill the visibility though, the video starts over at the next point of visibility, correct?

maybe opacity would be the way to go.

I haven't unchecked alpha yet because it leaves the black background under my 3D animation from the other app. 29.97 fps on both. My background is a gradient with grey and and a reddish-white, radial pattern. The frames happen twice, both in the middle of the sequence. Each of those times happens ex...

Exporting to Image Sequence has random "black" fra

I'm exporting an image sequence that keeps getting two areas of black frames to show up. Under my imported .avi layer I have a simple vector layer serving as a colored background. I have an .avi element of a 3d model (made with ulead cool 3d). The avi shows the 3d element fly off screen and back on....

Yeah, that's what I was figuring. I just don't have the time to re-render 1200 frames to test 100.

Oh well. Thanks for the reply!

Soundtrack not exporting now?

I've got a sountrack on an animation I'm working on, but it's no longer exporting when I run out a sample range of frames (.mov) to see how it looks. I can't seem to find any settings that may have been changed. The project is 2000 frames long. It also plays the track fine when using the scrubber to...

That's why at work when we fly we don't wear polarized sunglasses. A slight tilt of the head and you can't read the EFIS displays. :)

i don't have any say on what I'm getting. i was lucky enough to have them mail me an external HDD with all the data on it. i'm running the vegas project at 720x480, 29.97. I imagine their media is coming from digital cameras, etc. that probably would be 29.97. Since i'm dealing with (30)fps video an...

ok. what about sizing on the workspace in my video editor (sony vegas 8 pro)? a full framed image or scene is going to have to be matched to the output area to avoid black areas around the edges, is it not? This project will also video clips provided to me as well as a host of still shots. Will this...

thanks for the table there.

now the question is, i'm intending for the work to be shown on DVD. do I stick with the 720x540 or go 720x480 (i'm not too worried about doubling just yet).

Why is NTSC showing 720 x 540, and not 480?

Sure, I can change it to 480, but why is the default 540? Also, I'm reading the AS official guidebook and it talks about doing the following for image quality when rendering/burning for TV. 1. doubling your pixel size and then reducing to the DVDs project size. The problem here is their recommended ...

Hey Selgin thanks.

Yeah, AS5. I'll just start at zero then sync it in my NLE anyway. I'm already thinking of a few ways to 'marker' it to ensure it.

No biggie, but AS6 might be the way to go.
