I use both as well and one thing I have come to realize is you really need to plan your animation out in ASP. There really isn't anything like Straight-ahead animation as you need to build your characters. Winging it can be extremely frustrating. I like to mix traditional animation with cut-paper st...

Hey Phatthumb Thanks for the kind words. Glad you liked it. As far as becoming a professional freelance animator, here are my opinions on the subject. Are you an animator now? That is, have you taken any formal training or self-study? Have you produced anything professionally yet? Are you willing to...

Genete and Sourjax (love the name)... Thanks for the kind words guys! Genete, I tried to get the effect I wanted for the rays in AS but I am fairly new to the masking tools and so tried to just use gradients. I couldn't get the gradients to fade to zero alpha, just wouldn't work for me. I didn't thi...

TV Commercial with Anime Studio Pro

Hi all Just wanted to show you the latest commercial I did using Anime Studio Pro for Capital Dental Group in Southern California. It was all done in AS with the exception of the rays around the sun. I hope it brings a smile. It's definitely on the corny side but the client was thrilled so it's all ...

That should happen soon, although we are currently swamped with other projects. I'll start a new thread when the tutori...

im really confused on how to animate using point animation. Really simple DBD. Go to the frame you want your object to change and move the points to where you want them. This sets a keyframe and the points animate between the last keyframe and the one you just set. You can go to an intermediary fra...

Fantastic work! I have a LOT of respect for your work at Greykid. Love it. How do you guys approach music videos and other projects that use a continuous track? Do you animate everything in a single file with the whole track or do you segment the scenes into separate files with the corresponding mus...

Genete Thanks! I agree with your comment about the smoke. I wanted all the smoke to be much slower but couldn't get it figured out in time. Changing the velocity seemed to only affect the slope of the plume and not the speed of the particles. If you have any tips for next time, it would be much appr...

Well, my portion of the music video is completed and delivered. Sorry I haven't been updating this thread more often but I have been putting in some very long hours just to get it delivered on time. I made a significant investment in this production as I saw this as an opportunity to do something ne...
