finally got it all figured out, i did what you suggested, only 'duplicated' the idle position in an action to use over and over because if i change main line and then make another action with it its different. Thanks so much for your patience.

i thought of that, but you can`t pose them in frame 0, when you use manipulate bones in frame 0 it resets to default any time to do anything else. The one other thought i had was can i nest actions? Maybe make one action called 'deafult pose' that is one frame long and insert that into every other a...

i tried "select all" and it selected all of the bones....then paste in a new action....nothing. I don`t have the option to select points because i have it on the skeleton layer. Any other ideas?

well as i have made a few more tests I realized that once you add the legs (parented to the hips) the root bone (hips) lock into place instead of moving when the upper body bone moves. i tried copying 3 bones and pasting them on the same layer....and all hell broke loose lol. I got a series of errors that popped up anytime i clicked on anything....a tool...the screen....error would pop up. I`ll try to get it again and screen shot it for you.

Hi buijon, Have you tried this: Activate the "Translate Layer" tool and then at the tooloptions enter 0 for X position and 0 for Y position. Not sure if that is what you need?? Jimmy thats kind of what i need, but that just resets the layer position. I was to reset the origin of the layer...

i am still only working in frame 0 setting it up. There is no animation. This is all in frame 0 to set up the character on the skeleton with the manipulate bones tool to test it out.


Every parent should move when its child is moved right? Even if its the root?

reset the origin to the center

What numbers do i have to type in to make the origin recenter on the visible area? I Moved layers around instead of moving the points on the layers, so i need to reset them all to the same origin.

does the origin effect the layers relation to move with the bones?
