Re: How long have you been using AS?

I started when it was converted from Moho to AS, which I think was around 2005/2006, and that was called Anime Studio Pro 5 (maybe? I'm old and my memory's not so good. ;) ) -R

Re: AS10 - Preview Animation shows Black Screen

Just as an FYI, I am also using the work-around of re-enabling the GPU acceleration when creating a preview render, and this is on three different machines with three different video cards (one of which is pretty robust and relatively new). That would tend to indicate it's not brand specific or even...

The command "width.convert ("px")" and the one for height does not appear to be supported by the javascript engine in Photoshop CS. These appear to be only valid in CS2. What is generating the error after the #target photoshop lines is removed is actually the Anime Studio program...

One other thing in "doing it yourself". Be sure to remark out the lines

width.convert ("px")

and

height.convert ("px")

in the javascript file. These are the unsupported commands in Photoshop CS version 1. -R

Possible FIX

See here for details. Photoshop CS doesn't support the script commands to convert measurements to pixels. It appears to be a CS2 addition to the javascript. http://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=29075#29075 Waiting on mod to tell me if I can upload the fixed code since it was shipped with ...

I have modified the script to automate the process of switching the internal units to pixels for compatibility with Photoshop CS, as well as setting the preferences back to where they were for the application after the conversion of the file. I'm not entirely sure of the legality of uploading the ch...

EVEN SHORTER ANSWER

Before running the script, in Photoshop Preferences> Units and Rulers, set units to Pixels for Rulers and Type. Run the script. Problem gone. -R

Actually, after playing with it a bit more, I've located the problem. It is in the script, even though the error it is raising would seem to indicate a somewhat less than elegant substructure in the code. To put it in plain language, the script writes out the information needed to open the file in A...

The file header being written into the script is calling an external routine, that in turn has a bad hardcoded path to a local library on the programmer's hard drive. That is, as far as I can determine the problem is not in the script but in the Anime Studio code modules-it's a "true" bug,...

If you go to the forum index and scroll down you'll see a bug report forum under the Support subheading. I think this is probably the best place at this point because I'm not sure e-frontier has set up a bug forum or e-mail as yet.-R

I've only worked with the PC version, but I've had no stability issues with the software at all-even in the "beta" for this release. I've run it on a couple of differently configured boxes with differing levels of CPU, RAM, and video card manufacturers. Seems to be just fine on XP-SP2. I h...

The Poser output and AS input is "standard" OBJ so I'd say it should be cross platform for the most part. As near as I can tell from the script, it's outputting or linking the texture maps as JPEG also. Quickest way to test would be to get the Poser OBJ script from EF, output a file, and t...

http://www.runtimedna.com We're sort of Poser-centric, but there's an animation forum I mod that is pretty much open to any software, and we just added a forum for Anime Studio as well-will probably initially focus on technical but I'm hoping to deal with aesthetics and production aspects (writing,...

Not sure what content files you are referring to. Poser content usually comes in zip files, although depending on the vendor, some can come as .sit archives. If you could be more specific I might be able to answer the question.-R

I tried this with a "beta version" of Anime Studio Pro which I understand is equivalent to Moho 5.x, so I think it should work at least on the PC. I popped it into After Effects and it saw the alpha channel on import, let me load it and matted correctly. I'm pretty sure you have to work wi...
