Re: Moho's future

I think that Moho is extremely powerful, for me it is the master of puppets (rigs) without any doubt. If SM sells it, that could be good. Probably better than the current situation. The open source alternative would be awesome, but I guess that is too optimistic, isn't it? If I were rich I would buy...

Re: Group layer Depth Sort: Sort layers by Y-Position

I do hope using the z scale value for layer order is one of those things that simplifies projects, it might :) I'm using your script and it is amazingly useful, but I keep getting this error "LK_sortByZScale.lua:20: attempt to call method 'Layer' (a nil value)" very often. Do you get that error too...

Re: Copy-Paste Bone Keyframes to another bone

That's very cool. I have only started to play with moho physics but they are very interesting. I discovered the copy-paste bone keyframes feature when I tried to make a lot of identical smartbones to control the Z-scale of each layer and therefore the layer order with the fantastic "sort by Z-scale"...

Copy-Paste Bone Keyframes to another bone

Today I discovered something that I'm sure some of you already know, but I wasn't able to find this information anywhere and it took me a year to discover, so here you have it in case it could help someone like me. You can copy and paste bone keyframes (its rotation, position, etc) to a different bo...

Re: Group layer Depth Sort: Sort layers by Y-Position

This is awesome! I'm now diving into the more advanced layer sorting techniques, finding very useful every aproach explained here, and the Z scale technique, even if I still don't understand it very well, it really looks like a game changer. I would love an official implementation of something like ...

Re: Moving limbs between layers

@Daxel: Have tried this, but as soon as I add the perch to the rig it 'jumps' from its original position, and then even with layer and points released it continues to move as though part of rig. This is why I'm wondering if it's (invisibly) linked to another layer in the rig because of the original...

Re: Can I mask specific colors/styles?

The reason this feature would be powerful is you could cut down on the number of layers for things you don't want affected by masks (e.g. a separate layer for eyes, hair, mouth, etc.). Not the end of the world if this isn't possible, but awesome if it is. Welcome! I haven't seen that feature in Moh...

Re: Moving limbs between layers

Welcome to the forum! Another solution is to left the perch layer inside the rig like you did but avoid the perch from being affected by the bones. To achieve this, select the perch layer and click on Bone - Release Layer And points (this Bone menu is on the upper left side of the screen). Now the p...

Re: 360º Smartbones using cycles

I think have a few tricks for working with nested Smart Bones but I can't recall them at the moment. I'll dig into my notes later and see what turns up. It seems like I once used target bones to keep nested Smart bones 'active' in the timeline, or something like that. Let me see if I can track down...

Re: 360º Smartbones using cycles

I don't know if I understood this. I tried to follow the steps and did this: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AiyKCw6Xey5TgY9BZE10RZjmgKtRIA But I don't understand the advantage over using only one bone and one action like on the other file. For me, it's simpler to setup, modify, and animate a turn this way. Th...

Re: 360º Smartbones using cycles

Thank you so much! I'm learning a lot of things. I managed to make the hayasidist's method and fit it to my liking. I wanted the bone to look at the same direction as the head (for clarity I guess, or maybe TOC). This is a simple demo of it: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AiyKCw6Xey5TgY9CBM-UtZP1xcF4OA For beg...

Re: 360º Smartbones using cycles

one approach: in the action have the SB go from 0 to 720 (linear) over, say, frames 1 to 121. put the turn animation in frames 1 to 61 (linear!), looped from 61 to 2 (so that the SB will be at frame 62 when the turn animation skips back to 2) start with the SB set at 360 so you can rotate it in asc...

360º Smartbones using cycles

I have a character rig with smartbones for 360º head turn, torso turn and pelvis turn. The thing is that those smartbones make those parts turn but when the bone reaches its full rotation, it doesn't go further, giving me problems to animate the character on those bone angles. As far as I know, ther...

Bone that moves another bone that moves a third bone

Yes, this is what happens when I'm in quarantine. I made a smartbone that moves another smartbone that moves a third bone. When I move the first one, the second one moves, but not the third. Is there a way to make this work, like some script or technique?
