Re: ProRes 4444 with Alpha not working?

Just thought I should follow-up with info from LM support: "Thank you. We tested it on After Effects and, as you mentioned, the alpha channel appears to be ignored there. But we then transferred that exact same file from Windows and moved it to a Mac, and the alpha channel shows up in the follo...

Wow. I'll have to try this. I've been having semi-frequent crashes.

Re: ProRes 4444 with Alpha not working?

Hey thanks guys for your insights/input. I know how to convert image sequences and I know it doesn't take terribly long. I do it many hours a day. With multiple projects. It's a workflow thing sometimes. It's just that I was pleasantly surprised in seeing 4444 support had been added so when a client...

Re: ProRes 4444 with Alpha not working?

I'm aware of the benefits of rendering to image sequences. I've been doing 3D animation for more years than I care to mention. haha So rendering to an image sequence was the smartest way to avoid rerendering for hours when something crashed or there was a power outage, etc. Also, image sequences are...

ProRes 4444 with Alpha not working?

I typically output png sequence to get an alpha, but I have reason to need ProRes 4444 file. First I've tried it with 13.5.2 and it will not render with the alpha. I switched to .png sequence and the alpha works fine. Am I missing something? For now I'm going to png and will convert to ProRes with A...

Re: Export camera to After Effects

Thanks Greenlaw. There is already a super strong link between AE and C4D. That's why I'm hoping to find a way to do it as AE<-->Moho. That way I could use it with both AE and C4D. For now, I'm approximating the needed motion, rendering a sequence from moho and displaying that on a plane in C4D. It w...

Re: Export camera to After Effects

I've been looking for a way to do just the opposite. Bring camera data in from AE. (Really I want it from C4D, but I can go through AE as an interim since that's where I composite everything anyway)

Anyone ever seen a script for that? or if it's even possible?

Re: Ease control

I stopped expecting Moho to behave like After Effects and got used to it. There's the magic phrase! Yeah I'll be using bezier a lot more now that I discovered you have to double click an attribute to edit it in the graph view and since the presets only affect what's forward in time and not the keyf...

Re: Ease control

Thank you. Yeah it wasn't working as I expected. (I don't mean that it's working wrong, just differently than I thought it should.) Setting keyframe A to linear, and keyframe B to ease out had no affect on keyframe B. Because MOHO is affecting the movement following the keyframes instead of assignin...

Ease control

Longtime lurker, very seldomly post - But I need some guidance! I'm really stumped on this one. I've been ignoring it and working around it but today I am stuck. I cannot seem to get proper easing (or at least not in the way I am used to working in most other software). I have a character that is ru...

Re: moho 13.5.1 hates pen display tablets.

13.5.2 seems to still have problems with tablets. Using Add Point tool is not working proberly. It is adding extra points and also doesn't allow you to position the point, rather instead it is drawing a line. Disabling Windows Ink is a workaround, but at the cost of losing pressure

Re: question about 3D object shading

I don't use .obj import much, but I'm pretty sure you're right about light sources -- they have to be "baked in" to the 3D geometry before the files are imported into Moho. Actually, based on the video I watched that got me intrigued about this feature, the light sources are not baked in....

Re: question about 3D object shading

Thanks for the detailed responses! I'm no stranger to 3D - been doing it for years. The thought of doing some light 3D inside Moho was very intriguing to me and the real-time response looked great also. Given that the 3D implementation is still very new, I'd likely do reverse compositing when it mak...
