Re: Moho 12

Oh man, relative pathing sounds like a throwaway feature but it's going to be HUGE for distributed workflows as well as mixed-use studio environments.

Re: Does GPU acceleration matter?

Did I read somewhere that Cartoon Saloon (or another studio) had ASP patched into Deadline and their render farm — or am I imagining things?

Love that wide-eyed pause to track the fly buzzing through the air — and really fun color palette!

Re: Moho 12

From what I saw there really weren't any official SIGGRAPH presentations, more like stop by and if there was someone at the booth monkeying around with the Moho station, ask them some Q's. That said, I can't wait to see some official videos on the new features. There were some scene files at SIGGRAP...

Ah, perfect — makes a lot of sense. Cannot wait to see the examples for all these new features.

Re: Moho 12

I missed you! Talked to Mike and Uli — who showed me a wicked example of the Smart Warp tool on a handpainted face. Incredible control over the Puppet Tool I'm used to fighting in After Effects. Can't wait to get my hands on the update — looks like a lot of care went into it.

Re: Moho 12

One feature that's still a mystery to me that I didn't get answered at SIGGRAPH was Pin Bones — anyone have an educated guess on what this might be?

Re: Moho 12

I was told standard pricing was going to be $399 — but there will be upgrade pricing as well.

Re: New Character Animation Tests

That first move is ridiculously well done — it's the small subtle stuff that's the hardest to get right and you made it look effortless.

Re: Moho 12

Got to see just a little bit more of Smart Warps which broke my brain a bit. You can essential model as much or as little of the mesh as you want, and then let Moho tessellate the rest for you. So if you've done any 3D modeling, you can essentially create a face mesh for a painted character that mim...

Re: Moho 12

Took a look at it today at the SIGGRAPH booth — solid looking update. Freehand tool seems to be much faster but more importantly, a lot cleaner and more efficient with its use of points. Having experienced some slowdown in 11s Freehand tool this looks like my killer feature. Another big one looked t...

Can't wait to see demos on smart warping and especially the improved drawing tools. I'll be at SIGGRAPH tomorrow and report back.

Re: Orangutan Loopdee Loop

Thanks for taking a look — it's really been fun exploring the tools in ASP. Do you guys run into lag or delays when you're deleting points with the Freehand Tool? Or have you had the Freehand tool slow down and pause for a bit, only to end up with a straight line instead of your stroke?
