Bitmap Animation

I tried something new for the latest of my Pappy movies . In this one I made a film of my mouth while my chin was propped on a sponge mop to keep it still. I tweaked the hue and saturation a bit, and then masked it as part of the head of a bitmapped figure. It's a bit like the Dave Letterman effect,...

Another...Pappy...Music...Video

I put together yet another Pappy music video for a web site's anniversary celebration. Again, it's using the bone wiggle script to sync up the audio to the mouth movements. I find the bone wiggle script works really well with voice-only audio, but (of course) an accompanying music track throws it of...

Glad you enjoyed it. A little peanut butter does wonders for a dog's entertainment value onscreen.

New Pappy Video

Here's a new mashup music video featuring our dog Pappy and Anime Studio's bone wiggle script to sync a sound track to mouth movements.

Toulouse, yeah, singing dogs, heh heh heh. Modern equivalent of paintings of dogs playing cards. I guess I forgot to have the little dog singing in a deep voice, but maybe next time.

J.Baker... thx. It's all the rage in the rarified circle of dog-bloggers.

Xmas Music Video

I put together a music video for a blogging group using AS Pro. The photochopping took a while, but the animation itself went very quickly with the use of the bone wiggle script for lip synching, as in the tutorial. I had rerecorded myself speaking the lyrics in order to mask out the music from affe...

Pappy in "Gladiators of the Dog Park"

Here's the latest Pappy movie, where we return to our roots of doing mashups with image animations.

Gotta say that the absence of onionskinning with image animation makes things a bit out-of-control.

I'm thinking that Crusher will be taking on the Christians (no offense to the devout intended, that's just how it worked). Pappy's deathmatch needs to be against Jack.

Crusher Test

Fans of my dog blog, both of them, have spoken. I'm afraid that vector animations are out as a means of paying adequate tribute to my dog. They were kind of bored by Pappy and the Big Ball. If they are going to sit through it, they want some ginuwine Pappy footage-- like in " Teletubbies Meet P...

The easiest way is to create the contact positions first (where all the paws are just touching the floor). Here's a rough example animation I did. It is not as refined as your dog animation, but the contact positions are much better. This "dog" isn't floating while walking. Rasheed, Thank...

Pappy must be proud to see him 'immortalised' on the ' big screen'! When it comes to my diddling around with the computer, he's just impatient for me to get done. He's generally poking a ball around the tangle of cables at my feet while he's waiting-- it's like sitting on a washing machine. Thanks ...

Pappy And The Big Ball

Given my attention span (instant gratification) this is probably about as far as I am going to go with this one.

I've learned a lot, and hope to get a better feeling for movement and techniques next time.

Heyvern,

That sounds like the masking problem. I guess my interpretation involving frame 0, frame 1, and all that hoodoo is probably off base. With Anime Studio, I am confused enough about what I am doing that this kind of thing gets me all off kilter.

Thanks,

Myles, Thanks for looking at my problem and sharing my puzzlement. I think I have an idea what is going on in each case, or at least which of my behaviors created my situation. For the "missing pink squares" for the inserted references for an Action, the problem wasn't that I had accidenta...
