I loved the Amiga. It was an amazing machine back in 86. When most Itsy Bitsy Machines were monochrome, my Amiga 1000 was doing thousands of colors and doing raytracing. It even had gold plated chips and even the creators signatures on the underside of the casing. But in the hands of Commodore, the ...

hiding/locking geometry

I know we can hide and reveal layers but I have been making more complex geometry within a layer and find it rather difficult to select or isolate the part of geometry that I want to work on. This is especially so with overlapping shapes. Making named groups helps a bit but if we copy and paste geom...

LM has spoken. Give him a break. Go make some animation. A software is a tool. Like it, use it. Don't like it try something else or blame your ability. Personally, I've used Moho since V1.2. I've produced two fully animated commercial karaoke VCD for kids. Many trailers and pitches for television se...

I come from traditional animation background. pencils and paper, inks and cels. Obviously, you need to be able to draw. You can't draw, you can't animate in the old days. To people like us, just being able to draw digitally was like godsend. No more sharpening pencils, no more wasting paper, no more...

Sorry I'm 10 days late for this thread. I basically came to use MOHO after learning about it in HASH A:M's forum. Someone wrote that it was particularly similar to AM in model building. I followed the link to MOHO and was hook forever. :) I was using AM v5 and MOHO was at v1. MOHO was a life saver b...

FREE 3D TOOL for MOHO?

Caligari has a free version of it's popular 3D program TRUESPACE. Specifically, v3.2 gold. No time limit, not crippled. Full function! Together with the free plug-in LUUV v4.3 it will export 3d models to OBJ format correctly with textures UV maps. I've tried it and it works. checkout these links htt...

Found out what went wrong. I had a wav file sountrack that MOHO didn't like. Previously, I could even load an avi as a soundtrack but v5.3 will only take wav. I had to rip the audio from the avi and since the avi was a DV footage, the wav file was a 48KHz 16bit stereo format. Downsampling it to 44KH...

v5.3 render problem

I'm having problem rendering avi in V5.3.
After rendering the last frame, MOHO disappears on me and leaves me with a broken avi. Anyone else experiencing this?

Using XP pro.

Are you using the smoke generation script? The script makes alot of particles and layers to make it realistic so it is inherently slow. Try to modify it by reducing the particles, reducing the number of layers in the particle group. btw 15 minutes per scene is excellent by 3D standards. A simple ant...

After looking through the many scenes (40+) that I had converted to 24fps, I realise that not all will benefit. Reason? some cam movements are too small to be interpolated at full frame rate resulting in irregular tiny movements. Visually the movement look like its drifting. I guess that's why other...

I've just discovered the joys of rescaling keyframes.
So the workaround for now is to convert the project to 24fps and rescaling the keys for the entire document.

what will the post guys ask for next? ....
sub pixel movements?
field rendering?

pan and zoom. 12 fps or 24 fps

Man... I just got told in my face that my pan and zoom suck. Moho is so good at moving layers that I use pans and zooms a lot. either via layer movements or camera 3d moves. But I also do my animation on doubles ie 12 fps. so naturally the cam moves are all on 12 fps. now the post-production facilit...

one for the pc hardware expert

OK. This one got me. Why does my intel P4 2.4GHz pc renders slower than my AMD sempron 2600+ GHz. The AMD really gets up to only 1.83GHz but the P4 is 2.3GHz. However, when animating, the P4 performs better as I can hear the soundtrack better when I scrub on the timeline. I suspect lousy built-in so...
