Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"

Thanks the tip, Darth. I'll give it another go. Hi exile, did the latest version work for you? Nvidia Graphics cards from around 2010 or later should be compatible. Blender 2.8 is a big change from prior versions, so I'm putting out a beginner tutorial series aimed at 2d artists and people who have...

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"

Will do chucky. :)

Thanks exile! Are you sure it's the graphics card? Blender had a few major updates recently and it might work now(2.8 didn't work for me either until last month, and I'm also using a really old Nvidia card.)

Another Grease Pencil test, an entire city in under 10 minutes: https://i.imgur.com/Gf0zJIg.gif The nice thing about this is you can create a library of reusable "models" to finish storyboarding or sequentials in a fraction of the time. No 3d modelling required. If anyone is interested I s...

Re: Woah GIMP?

Open source software has really been stepping up their game with all these great updates. So much good stuff, so little time. Also chucky if you can't see images or videos it probably means that your browser(especially firefox and chrome) is blocking content on certain websites. You'll have to manua...

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"

Spent time learning about the new grease pencil features thru youtube videos(thanks for the links everyone!). The interpolation tools are not quite as sophisticated as Moho(would love to see Blender smart bones), but it does many many other cool things. In the example below I was sort of able to dra...

Re: Clip Studio, dropping Smith Micro?

Another downside is that FB group moderators are not always as tolerant as here - you can bash Smith Micro on this forum without your posts being deleted. I'd say this is the most valuable resource for Moho users. I remember facebook tried to copyright the word "face", but I only use that...

Re: Clip Studio, dropping Smith Micro?

Too bad there's no like button - but maybe it's better without the disadvantages of Facebook. Keep 'em comin'. We're in the age of likes! That's why forums are kinda dying off, everyone has been migrating to social media. I still prefer forums because it feels more personal. Chucky - I just realize...

Science might resurrect the Thylacine back from extinction if they succeed with the woolly mammoth first. So maybe he can have tea with the pademelon in your garden one day!

Nice InfoCentral, I'd seen that one before. Haven't had a chance to play with Freestyle yet, but it looks cool.

Re: Clip Studio, dropping Smith Micro?

My 11-year old daughter Sienna animated a short film recently, and she quickly learned the program and knocked out her storyboard in about an hour. (Actually, she was 10 when she made this short.) I don't have a copy of her storyboard online but here's her film (mostly animated in TV Paint): Omg Gr...

Thanks so much chucky!

I almost thought this was the Blender thread for a second, lol.

Anyone make comics in CSP or use it for boarding? It's very tempting.

I second that exile! More Grease Pencil tutorials would be great, although GP is about to get a major overhaul in the next release.

Re: Clip Studio, dropping Smith Micro?

I agree, Flash is abysmal, I feel like smacking myself for sticking by it so long. I've never used Animate CC, but Flash CS6 crashes all the time, and to a lesser extent so does Photoshop. Also, CSP costs far less than either of those atrocious programs and hasn't crashed once. Anyway, today's CSP s...
