I imagine you already got an answer to this, but you need to point Anime Studio to your Poser installation in the preferences.

I think Anime Studio definitely has a lot more flexibility. There is not an easy way to create a custom skeleton/bone structure in CTA and shape animations don't seem to be supported, as least not as well as in AS.
