Re: Layer effects in Action

BTW, lately, I've been using Liquid Shapes to shade vector drawings. Combined with Rai's Shapes Window, I can set up locks of hair with fairly detailed highlights, and because it's all vectors, the setup can be easily animated with bones, point animation, Curver, and/or Smart Bones. (Magnet tool is ...

Re: Layer effects in Action

Oh, shoot...you're right. I just played with it. I can keyframe the color and the external widget transforms for the shader effects, but not internal controls like Light Angle. If I ran into this before, it's likely that I used conventional methods (offset layers and masks) in the Smart Bone to do s...

Re: How to : rig rubber hose arms

Glad you got that solved, Gibble...and good call, SimplSam! :D How would I check this scale though as I'd like to be certain (plus it's likely something I'll run into in the future anyway To check the current layer's size scale, select the Transform Layer tool. The scale is visible in the tool optio...

Re: How to : rig rubber hose arms

Also, if the Curver layer itself is 100%, then it could be the scale of a group layer up the hierarchy affecting it.

Re: How to : rig rubber hose arms

Just a thought: Could it be a matter of layer scale? Check the size of the Curver layer to see if it's been reduced. When rigging, it's best practice to keep all layers at 100% size on frame zero to prevent situations like that.

Re: Onion skin and bone snap

I think he means bones snapping to other bones. @Hamedss, Bones snapping only works at frame 0. If you need bones to go back to their frame 0 position while on later frames, you can use the Reset Bone command, which resets selected bones. You'll want to assign a shortcut to it since it doesn't have ...

Re: Layer reference acceptable parameters

I don't know about that example specifically, but in my experience, many items that are not keyframeable will not carry over in a Reference update. For example: Bone Strength. If I update a 'master' rig for referencing, and one of the changes is in bone strength, other animators on the prod need to ...

Re: MR Guides Script 1.2

It's been 2 years since I commented here about MR Guides, and I just had to come back and say I still use this tool all the time. This really should be a native feature.

Thanks again for creating and sharing so many wonderful tools for Moho, Eugene!

Re: Locked Layer Q

As mentioned, RMB clicking on the Timeline can shift it. If I'm not careful, I sometimes accidentally shift it this way. It's easy enough to correct, but it can be a pain when I don't catch the mistake before doing a lot of animation.

So be careful. :D

Re: Animation to a GIF

I use Moho to create GIFs for the forums all the time. The trick is to set the color palette before rendering because GIF is limited to a total of only 256 colors. To do this, go to a frame that contains all the colors and is most representative of the animation and press Ctrl+R. Then, at the bottom...

Re: Copy bones to another arm

What I do is save a copy of the project, and then rename the bones and actions for the mirror side. For example, if your bone/action has an R at the end, change it to an L. When renaming actions, you can select the root group of the item (i.e, the 'arm' group,) and rename the actions for that. The r...

Re: Locked Layer Q

Daxel explained it well.

You can also fix the offset by RMB-Click dragging in the timeline to move the offset back one frame. This is the same as going into Sequencer and shifting the layer. It's just more direct this way because you don't need to change the Timeline view to Sequencer.

Re: Locked Layer Q

Are you on frame 0? I'm guessing you are because I see the bold red highlight in the bottom edge. The Smart Bone situation I described wouldn't affect frame 0, so I'm not sure why the layer would be locked. Here's another thought: could the layer be offset in time? I've run into situations where tha...
