Re: "Separation Anxiety" title sequence

It looks VERY good on its own, as an opening credits roll I would have long turned it off. Animated credits are nice but only when there's a constant interaction between character and credits. This has long, long stretches of cartoon with no credits. The last 30 seconds or so get it right. Honestly...

Re: "Separation Anxiety" title sequence

That's fantastic and really makes me want to watch the film. Do you make a Hitchcock style cameo appearance in the feature? :D I make 4 appearances I think, haha. There were some days that I was the whole crew, but we needed an extra so I'd hit record and run into a shot. I'm a customer in a cafe, ...

"Separation Anxiety" title sequence

Hi everyone, I directed my first live-action feature film a little while ago, but since it's kind of a Hitchcock-style film, doing an animated title sequence felt appropriate. The character stufff was all in Anime Studio Pro, the text stuff in After Effects. Here's the results! 100729653 The full fi...

Re: Random space/meteor thing for "The Brainstorm"

That looks great, and not at all what I expected when reading the script, but so much funnier.

Re: Solo Animator: Skills Required?

Besides learning to build a rig quickly or one that's very diverse and developing excellent timing and posing skills, time management. Working on projects on your own is hard because only you will keep yourself on track. This is where I fail every time I start an animation project.

Banged out a new one over the last two days. Might try for another by next weekend.

I think that rainbow vomit really would work because of all the other rainbow attacks at that point in the video.

I've watched this now so many times that the song was running through my head continuously last night. The last draft of it looks fantastic!

Thanks for the advice, cheyne! I have spent a lot more time in the How Do I section now to get some ideas. It's interesting that after doing 3D animation for so long that I have to relearn a lot of things when moving over to this medium. I've had a cold and haven't done any more animation yet, so ju...

It's quite a nice use of anime studio in mostly non-character related ways. I particularly liked the cake one, good use of the particle system.

Dialogue test on a new rig

Until now I've only done stick figure characters in Anime Studio, so I've been building a rig for a more complex character to see what I could come up with and what the workflow is like. Here's a first dialogue test with a little Liam Neeson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83mEW7H4h4Y The character i...

Did you have the layer selected that you were trying to hide? If you do, then it doesn't disappear. It had me a bit confused the first few times too.

I dig it. Nicely executed, good blend of polished visuals and solid editing, and it looks like you've got your casting all planned out when Hollywood comes calling.

Thank you both for the kind words!

Yeah, I tried 3 or 4 different character designs before going with the stickmen. I'm working on some more detailed characters to do something a little fancier, but I'm still working out the kinks of rigging 'em.
