Re: Any rumblings of a date for Moho 13 yet?

I'm a big fan of the vector shape / bitmap fill option. Most of the textures in this (done in 12.x) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFcyaKehHxc were done with that technique. (As a broad generalisation I use mid-grey bitmap textures; overlay a further highlights/shadows (light-dark grey) texture; th...

Re: Any rumblings of a date for Moho 13 yet?

I hope they integrated the Poser dials to replace the current smart bones dials so the workspace would be clean. hmmm ... just seen an announcement from SM about Poser being sold ... https://www.smithmicro.com/company/news-room/press-releases/2019/06/20/smith-micro-announces-sale-of-its-poser-3d-re...

Re: Mask shapes canceling each other out when overlapped...

yeah - it sounds to me as though the "shapes" in the layer used as a mask are not separate Shapes in the Moho sense of the word. As Greenlaw says, it's possible to create several closed Paths that are treated as one Shape - this is how freehand behaves if you have autofill on. Take a look at the mas...

Re: Frame to frame question.

Ah! sorry - now I see that you want to change the width at only one point, rather than 'globally', I'm not so sure that styles or Stan's tool will help at all.

For the future - duplicate frame could help (the button with overlapping boxes between the [-] button and the [6] ).

Re: Frame to frame question.

try this tool from Stan: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=30071

(or, for next time, use a style)

Re: 3D Plane Butterfly Wings

you might try making the z separation of the camera / wing higher (and zoom to compensate for size reduction). Distortion is very noticeable when the distance between camera and "nearest the camera" is very small compared to camera and "furthest from camera" (fish-eye lens effect) e.g. camera at z=4...

Re: Forum software update

this forum, IMO, contains a wealth of information and experience as well as the life story of Moho. To lose it would be almost as unthinkable as the destruction of the Smithsonians (something ironic there about the name?!). But there is a load of stuff in here that is little more than history - the ...

Re: connecting and disconnecting bone plus bind layer

maybe simpler: each placard (layer / group) has its own bone in the "body" skeleton to which it is bound all these bones start in the same place and are all parented to the "holding" hand bone (might be easier to have these bones physically separate on frame 0 and translate them to this starting pos...

Re: ...That's not meant to happen

glad you got it sorted! (take a look at edit > preferences > layers/objects - there's an "auto center new layers" - with that checked, AS will "helpfully" change the origin … might be the answer to the z shift - personally, I keep that off - and I think the default is off in later versions)

Re: ...That's not meant to happen

ok …
so in the first one - check the point binding is correct?
second one - are you using the bone transform tool on frame 0? that will move the bones but not the artwork.

failing that - if you'd like to upload the AS file I (or anyone else here) could take a look

Re: ...That's not meant to happen

top ones: probably flexibinding - other bones are influencing the points - one set of bones pulling one way and the others refusing to let the vectors go where you want them.
the new rig: at first glance it seems that the vector might not be a child layer of the bone layer????
