Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"
Steve: I have participated, at length, in the very lucrative trade of floor mopping and toilet cleaning - becoming expert in both skills - though I have foolishly chosen to move forward into what I thought were greener pastures in more recent years. Regarding my training style - people either love i...

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"
Steve: Sorry about the roller coaster ride . . . but, at least it was thrilling, right? I really like hearing about your endeavors - and I really do understand the desire to finally finish something memorable before the impending "forever". Regarding OpenToonz and "Bones" - it wa...

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"
Hi Steve: The Russians are smart and frugal. They won't invest in anything frivolously. Neither will I (now). OpenToonz is, at present, probably the most complete 2D (free) software available - which I have already invested a lot of time learning and demonstrating. It is an odd piece of software - b...

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"
Hey, Steve! I wholeheartedly agree. People do think 2D animation should be much easier than it actually is. In many ways, a convincing 2D project is harder to realize and finish than a 3D equivalent. What to do . . .. what to do? If you throw into this mix the incurable desire to constantly be tryin...

Re: My future with Moho
Mike has not been overly vocal on his views on Moho, specifically - (it's current state, what he would have liked to do with it or whether he has any interest in the continued development of it). My guess is that he is legally limited in what he can say, due to his current employment responsibilitie...

Re: My future with Moho
I'm not sure I share the universal enthusiasm for Open Source software development. For one thing, successful, commercial software is in the bad habit of never being finished, never elegant, satisfactory or even entirely usable. It is a trend of the age. It is the nature of the system. Take that sam...

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"
Steve: I think waiting for an "actual" release of Grease Pencil for Blender 1.8 is the wise choice. However, I've been spending the last 8 months or so really looking into the best 2D animation solution - that covers all aspects of design, animation and composition - in one good package - ...

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"
DKRoot:
So, if I understand you - each "part" of a Grease Pencil Character (Head, Body, Arm, Leg, etc.) would be a separate Blender Object. Each and every Object would need to be parented to an Armature - individually, or as a Group - is this correct?
Thanks,
Greg Smith

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"
Herbert: Grease Pencil, indeed, seems to be the application with the brightest future for 2D animators. Really good initial concept and a brilliant execution of that concept Too bad we cannot use it as shown in that video, RIGHT NOW. Maybe you can deduce something for me: since Grease Pencil drawing...

Re: Opentoonz v1.1.3 released!
I am a bit disappointed.
No Mac fixes or improvements are present with this release.
Plastic Tool is still broken when using vectors.
Double top header display when maximizing the view.
And much, much more!
PC only.

Re: My future with Moho
Mike: Of course I know none of the details, but I don't think this will be a bad thing for you. I can't imagine sticking with a coding project as long as you have stuck with this one. You have proven yourself "the trooper, extraordinaire." I'll bet you started the Moho Project because you ...

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"
Motion Artist. I've never examined it. In principle I feel nobody should ever use an application that is significantly over-powered for what they need to do. I'll bet that Motion Artist probably is all you needed for the application you described. GameFlow is really a total, interactive application ...

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"
Steve: I really don't know whether recent purchases will be given a free entry to version 1.0 or not. I wish I knew how to steer you on this one. In my up-coming videos - the point of using images made in Rebelle isn't primarily to chain people to that pipeline - but to demonstrate that images which...
