Thank you so much for doing this!! I was able to use your r30 version on Fedora 12 with no problems, whereas with the LM papagayo it had API mismatch errors. The only thing I noticed was that the "about" dialog wasn't working (very minor, but I just wanted to verify which version I was run...

Thanks for the pointer.

The other thing you can do is to edit the AnimeStudioPro startup script. Go down to line 30 and change:

Code: Select all

        $MOHO_LOCATION $*
to:

Code: Select all

        padsp $MOHO_LOCATION $*

This way you won't have to type it each time.

Origins of human facial expressions

I was listening to NPR this morning and heard the following story: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=91680864 It talks about researchers looking into the origin of facial expressions, why they are similar across humans all over the world, and what are the biological and environmen...

I've been thinking about your style for a couple of days, and it seems like your idea is a good one. The thing that stuck out for me, was that the 3d objects all seemed too shiny. So by backing that off to almost your black and white that should help.

I'd like to see what you come up with.

About the "only 50 USD": I'd have to buy a copy of Windows first, an OEM version of XP Home will cost me around 80 euros. That, and the headache of learning how to use Windows all over again (last version was Win98SE, more than 5 years ago). So, I think it's only 50 USD if you already hav...

Sorry to hear about that Burt. The only thing more transient than a career in high tech is a career in animation (been laid off 5 times in 7 years).

Best of luck,

I'm not sure when we'll find a spot on the Smith Micro site, but the build exists, and you can start using it right away.

Thank you very much Mike for the kind response. At last I know Linux is not forgotten.

They want to test their forum user's intellectual capabilities. The first one who can name all new features wins a ride through an unamed vietnamese animation studio. This kind of reminds me of how new content comes out in World of Warcraft, and everyone needs to cooperate to get the keys to gates ...

HeyVern, Been a long time, huh? The last I was on here was when the 2007 Foota contest was starting. Time flies!? Anyway, I've been trying to get some masks working with an alpha. In my example, located here: http://www.mediafire.com/?0pqfet29hzd , I have a masking group with blue that's supposed to...

So, the depth sorting in AnimeStudio only takes the 3d object's center into account, while I think real 3d programs compute each point. That is enough when you use 2d plans, but can't work properly with 3d objects. One way I've worked around this in the past is to split my 3d objects up. In the Len...

I think you need to turn on "depth sorting" under "File" -> "Project Settings". Also, you can turn on depth sorting in a group layer too.

I personally like when a filmmaker can use the wider aspect ratio in telling the story. It gives the director more options in framing a shot, and more flexibilit This is a common mistake in thinking, like in "The screen is bigger, so we have more possibilities to fill it". Hitchcock said ...
