Would Manga Studio allow vector import of bitmaps into AS7?

I have not used Manga Studio EX4, but in reading up on it, I noticed that it has a bitmap-to-vector conversion feature. Basically, you can draw your images on paper or import them from an outside source, and according to the product description, Manga can convert them into a vectored image. So here'...

Input from an artist who has also hired other artists

There are a couple of factors to consider. It's more than just a per-second-of-footage kind of thing. Ask this: 1. How much does the animator have to create, versus how much does the customer provide? Is the animator expected to design all characters, or are those already created by the client? Is i...

Need fun & quick animation for tech video

I'm seeking assistance with a video I'm putting together for an equipment supplier. Part of the video involves animation of a truck trying to drive across various portions of a U.S. map, but quickly getting lost amidst a sea of telephone communications streaming all over the place. The total amount ...

I agree. Especially with all the morphs going on, the backgrounds, etc. It's really impressive. Like neeters_guy, I'm also curious about how many people worked on this (and for how much time).

Over on the "Share your work" sub-category of this forum, I see a lot of people put up small, 5 or 10-second samples of new characters they're working on, and then other people weigh in with thoughts -- some technical, some artistic. That might help. Otherwise, there are all kinds of forum...

Looks good, Hothead. That's really all one layer?

I did notice that at the extent of the head turn, the mouth actually went off the face a little bit. Otherwise, looked smooth.

Relax, friend. It was just a joke to lighten the mood after all your angry posts. I believe that in the past week alone, you've written that AS7 sucks; claimed ToonBoom is better; attacked SmithMicro (rather viciously) for "no free trial;" cross-posted more than a dozen times about the exa...

Ah. Glad we got that straight. Carry on then, angry android. Whew! I'm actually glad we don't have to fight now. I'm kinda scared of that forehead.

Hey, wait a minute! I'm the only one who gets to have the nickname "Mad!"

That's it, MadRobot. We shall fight. You shall be defeated; after all, now that you've thrown your back while attempting to ---- yourself, victory is sure to be mine!

I have no doubt that Toon Boom is great software. I have plenty of respect for it. However, you can buy AS7 Debut for 1/6th the cost of the consumer Toon Boom. As for the pro version of Toon Boom, it costs 10 times as much as the pro version of AS7 (unless you go for Harmony, in which case it's more...

Now, how would you know that ASP7 sucks if you didn't get to have a trial of it?

Sorry. That pesky logic getting in my way again ... Oh, well. Enjoy Toon Boom!

Thanks, GCharb. If nothing else, my post proved that we still want/need you around here! Gotcha on the head turn explanation. I guess what I was wondering was whether the 3D tool simplified the process, or whether it was still better to do it using the method you describe. From what you're saying, t...

Head turns

I might be misunderstanding the exact issue, and I can't speak from firsthand experience yet because my copy of ASP 7 is still on its way. (Sorry, I'm a traditionalist -- I ordered the physical version rather than a download.) That said -- haven't there been entire threads on this board devoted to h...
