The Anime Studio user manual warns that "a complex particle effect can easily overwhelm Flash." I notice that your exported Flash file starts doing strange things shortly after your "smoke" particle layer becomes visible.

Maybe the smoke effect is too complex for Flash.

Cookins, I'm looking at your project and I don't see any problem: On frame 0: All of your objects are displayed. On frame 1: There is nothing, because all of your layers are invisible. On frame 2: The sun appears. Your other layers are invisible and positioned below the screen. On frame 96: Your for...

I've been working on exactly the same fake-3D technique for an object in my Work In Progress, but I gave up for two reasons: it became far too difficult for the object I needed (it had a criss-crossing curve in it), and the creative alchemy involved made it difficult to reuse in more than one settin...

Actions are exactly like selectable mini-timelines for each layer in your project. Since actions are layer-specific, the keyframes for an action can only affect the layer the action is applied to. So if you create an action called "Swivel Left" for a layer called "Cat Ears," the ...

I was blown over by VERGE 2.5 way, way back. At the time it was awkward, DOS-based, and difficult to customize beyond a "Final Fantasy" style of game, but it looks like it's come a long way: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verge_%28gaming%29 Even though the wiki page (and the site's own FAQ) ...

The TV Movie killed Pennywise for me, but you've brought him back to his bad ol' self! Great work, Sinclair. And not bobble-head-ish either.

I should have clarified: headphones are good when you're trying to eliminate noise in your project...otherwise you're liable to get the noise in your project confused with the noise in your workspace. Otherwise speakers should be used when you're approaching your final mix, preferably different spea...

Your opacity issue: it's in the user guide under "Allow Animated Layer Effects." Your ease in/out issue: those keyframe changes happen at the subsequent keyframe, not the keyframe you apply them to. I'm not sure what the logic is for that, but if you want something to ease in/ease out at y...

A blanket tent! That would probably work, but I think you'll want to make it as big as possible. If it's too small the blankets might absorb too much sound before the microphone gets a chance, and you'll wind up with a muffled sound. I think that if you have a large enough tent and you do some exper...

Mylenthes, A bone layer can't have lines in it, but I'm assuming you're referring to the vector layers within the bone layer group, which are all being scaled as you scale the group. Look up "scale compensation" in the user guide. In my copy it's on page 263. I assume you'd only need to ch...

I don't remember seeing sailor uniforms that button up that way...it does look like a cook's uniform. I just did a google image search for "sailor suit," and most of the sailor outfits I'm seeing have no buttons, their collars aren't buttoned up the neck, and -- most importantly -- they ha...

Hi Neomarz, I do a lot of work with audio, but strictly from a hobbyist perspective...I spend far more money on my music than I ever make from it. So take my answers with a grain of salt: 1. Avoid compressed audio files until the very, very end of a project (so no mp3s), and even then, only use it i...

Hello Guy, Actions are wonderful, they just take some getting used to. The best advice I can give is just to create some and try them out, but to answer your questions and also give some tips: * I don't know of any tutorials, but if you do a search in the forum for Actions then you'll find lots of d...

I'm not finding a lot of use for the draw tablet in AS yet, except as a way of giving my mouse hand a rest. I need to activate so many keyboard shortcuts -- enough that programming them all into the quick keys isn't feasible -- so putting down the pen, using the keyboard, picking up the pen again......
