Re: Linux support...

I started experimenting with Moho back around 2001, when Moho versions were released for BeOS and Windows. Then BeOS was dropped for MacOS. I think around 2004 Moho began including releases (5.x) for Linux and continued through 2007 or so. Back then, it was a huge challenge to develop desktop graphi...

Re: Linux support...

Unfortunately, I believe it's gone forever, yeah. Why? See this video where the creator of Linux himself explains the situation with desktop application support: And yet, Blender and Blender LTS And yet, GIMP And yet, Davinci Resolve And yet, Krita And yet, ... I'm an old Linux/Unix 'tech geezer to...

Old Moho/ASP Linux versions: workarounds for running on Ubuntu 18.04

So, short story long: I've been doing more stuff on Linux for a long while now. Recently, I was reorganizing my software collection & I realized I had some old versions of Moho & ASP. Like the early Linux Moho versions (5.2, 5.4) and the early Linux ASP versions (5.6 and 6.1). Those releases...

FYI on the 10.1.3, 11.2 and 12.5 versions

I recently discovered the big changes at SM (ie: no longer supporting ASP/Moho versions < 13). Also noted the website change, as already discussed in this forum. This in particular caught my eye in https://my.smithmicro.com/#collapse37 : All versions of Anime Studio as well as version 12 of Moho hav...

Re: Studio Khara moving to Blender

"HERO is a showcase for the upcoming Grease Pencil in Blender 2.8. Grease Pencil means 2D animation tools within a full 3D pipeline. In Blender. In Open Source." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKmSdY56VtY The last few minutes of the video shows clips of how the animation was made and give...

Studio Khara moving to Blender

The new features and updates in Blender 2.8 convinced Studio Khara to jump on board. The "grease pencil" feature apparently is what helped their decision.

Re: A couple of ? on issues with V10

I got the answer to fixing the black screen on anime studio 10 from smith micros tech support, whom was very helpful goes by the name of John. I figure to share this with anyone who also runs across this problem. There is a hidden settings file in your user preferences. C:\Users\<username>\AppData\...

I'd have to try and Inkling before deciding it's usefulness. Nonetheless... I like to sketch on medium-to-large paper sizes (18"x24" or larger), so I'm disappointed about the 8.5"x11" paper size limitation. I guess one might be able to move the sensor horizontally on larger paper...

I tired of my tiny Wacom Bamboo and looked at other options. After looking at a bunch of Wacom alternatives (e.g.: Aiptek, Waltop, etc.) I stumbled upon MonoPrice tablets: http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10841 Monoprice lists user comments/feedback for their pr...

I read the article and it's not really saying swf is unstable on a 64bit platform - just that running a 32bit app/plugin on a 64bit system is generally suboptimal (i.e.: playback performance can suffer). On my XP 64 system I run 32bit Firefox with the 32bit flash player plugin installed. Works fine....

I've seen this happen to folks before in various situations. The three most common reasons: 1) The user's PC relies on a ISP/firewall/proxy/router that employs web caching/filtering (like squid). The web cache/filter can become munged for various reasons - which can affect returned google search res...

You could try "SMP Seesaw Pro". It's freeware. Works on my XP systems. I'd think it would work on Vista too. No idea about Windows 7. It's here: http://www.mlin.net/SMPSeesaw.shtml Download the newer "Pro" version. It can handle XP and CPUs with more than two cores. The older non...

Weird. Canadians can buy it for 10 bucks. To kind of add insult to injury: After a quick web search, I see anyone in the US can buy AS 7 Pro for 129 bucks through Amazon. That's the same as the "upgrade price" SM offered owners of the previous version. Guess I'll wait until AS 7 Pro drops ...
