Re: Bone and X/Y scaling problem.

Thanks for the replies,

Long story short, look into smart bones. First thing's first, I'll take a look at a tutorial, and then if it turns out there's problem with that method, I'll take another look at your posts, abeit knowing how smart bones work.

Thanks for the help.

Bone and X/Y scaling problem.

This requires a little explanation Basically, I'm trying to make a head rig capable of easy head turns via layers and scaling. https://i.gyazo.com/1dab1b98cf1ef286244104158be7e4c4.mp4 First I tried with a lot of manual vertices shifting, but it's a little too time consuming, and all the keyframes en...

Re: Depth/hierarchy problem

Hmmm. When you use "use selected bones for flexi binding", nothing happens. If I'm doing say, an arm, what bone should the image be bound to? If I bind an image of an arm to the shoulder, and then select all the arm bones and click flexi binding, it's only effected by the shoulder. EDIT: A...

Re: Depth/hierarchy problem

Thanks for the replies, guys. Indeed the issue was that I wasn't putting everything in the same bone group. The issue now is binding. The last thing I'm confused about, is binding a single layer (a raster image) to multiple bones. For instance, the torso is a single image, but I want it bound to two...

Re: Depth/hierarchy problem

Geh, I need to take another look at this. I think I need to learn more about binding layers.

Re: Depth/hierarchy problem

The problem is that the neck is a different bone than the head. The head bone is in front of the neck bone So, if the back hair is in the "head" bone, then it's in front of the neck bone. I can't move the back-hair layer behind the neck, because that would mean taking it out of the "h...

Depth/hierarchy problem

I have a bone for the head, and it's parent is the neck bone, However, the back of the hair needs to be behind the neck, yet parented to the head bone. How can I make the depth of a layer farther back than something higher up in the hierarchy? I've numbered the parts in terms of what the depth would...

Thanks guys.

And no, that isn't my voice. I got one of my friends to do it, since he sounds like that all the time anyway.

Forecast of a depressed wheatherman

In a school project I had to make something related to the weather, and quick. Things sure are easier to animate when they can only be seen from the waist up >_> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NJoSt5CQII Anyway, this isn't much but it makes me want to try actually animating something complete, sinc...

Hmm, nevermind. I think bones would have to have the ability to rotate from either end to be able to do it.

I'm not sure I understand it myself, to be honest... Anyhow, here's what I want to be able to do. Say the red bone is the parent, is there any way I could make it so moving it doesn't change the position of the other bones, but rather the rotation? http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/7753/85206718.jpg ...

"ragdoll" bones?

Hmm...how to explain this.

Is there any way to make it so that if you move a bone, the only thing that would change about a bone that's attached would be it's rotation?

If that makes any sense.

Using switch layers with bones.

Image
Only one bone has any effect on the image layer.

I have a switch layer (with an image) in a bone layer. Whenever I put a switch layer in a bone layer the bones don't move correctly, what am I missing?

How do you place black lines without them being the edge of a shape?

Edit: Ah, I see what you meant now Syn.

I'm not sure I have explained the problem properly. When you click on the create shape tool, most things fill by just clicking on them, while other things (seemingly at random) just highlight but don't turn into shapes. For instance, when I try to fill this space, it doesen't allow me to. http://img...
