how many layers?

Somebody wrote a script to count all layers in an AfterFX project and sent it to Cyriak Harris (if you don't know his work, shame on you.) Here's the numbers for some of his videos:

Re: Camera tips?

Have a look at life action films: they simply wouldn't do it that way. They would place the camera in a way they could just pan from box to cloud while following focus. As a general rule, don't do camera movements which contain both in an out zooming in the same scene - that's something reserved for...

Re: Audio output

You didn't mention your OS. Unfortunately OS sounds like OSX too much.

Re: Import video

Check the video file name: better no blanks and no non-7bit-Ascii-characters (also in the path).

Re: Audio output

OSX in its newer incarnations has become quite stubborn about audio routing. Before 10.6, audio applications were able to easily route where they wanted. Since then it's a hodgepodge of in-app settings and the old trusty audio panel in the systems settings. Moho doesn't have any ability to route, so...

Re: Character Rig animation test

Looks good. This is a nice style for animation aimed at children, it can be a bit choppy, no need for all-smooth movements.

Re: optimal image resolution and sizes inside MOHO

It's simple: you have your project dimensions: HDTV 1920 x 1080, so a background for this should be of the same size or a bit larger. If you want to zoom in, you need larger bitmaps. I have my assets sorted in 3 groups: 1. everything 1:1, that's for scenes where there's no zoom or pan. 2. double siz...

Re: Gradually slow down animation

Don't forget to have that spinner go back and forth some times at the end before it comes to rest.

Re: Gradually slow down animation

Had something like that in a job: a slot machine. Created an image strip with all the numbers, made some copies, applied directional blur on each with different strength. Animated these in Moho and switched between images.

Re: Timeline consolidation

I try to avoid manoeuvres like this because Moho isn't really built for that. Instead I render stuff and try to fix it in video editor, fortunately I can use transpareny and render only parts.

Re: Timeline consolidation

As long as what you want to move is in a single layer (group), this can be done in the Sequencer tab of the timeline. If you've never used this before, you should train on a different project first. (And make a copy for security anyway.)

Re: Object not moving correctly...

Never ever put things in different Z depths which shall move together. Only use layer order to determine what goes to front.

In general, never use any other Z value than 0 unless you're doing a multiplane setup...

Re: Head rotation and movement

A switch layer can have bones as well! In your case it may be enough to only bind one of the switch images to the bone.

It's also possible to put bone layers inside a switch layer.

Re: Head rotation and movement

OK, I assume your problem is this: You have a head turn, and you have lots of different trunks because you want to move it. For each head position, there's a set of several trunks. Correct? How I would solve this: Have a bone or group layer for each head position. Inside this there will be 1 head po...
