foreshortenning

I didn't have much luck with bone scaling so in my current work I use a separate layer copied from the "boney" version of the movement I want. At the critical moment I change over to the copied layer where I have freehand adjusted every point (this took a while!)

remember selected layer tab

I imagine this would be fairly simple - if I've got the layer window open and want to edit the same group of settings for another layer it'd be nice to minimize keystrokes needed. One easy trick here would be to just remember which tab I was on when I close the layer window & select a new layer....

I've been pretty impressed with what audacity can do; its "noise removal" tool asks for a sample of the "noise" first then uses that "noise profile" to remove it. It removed the worst of some background air conditioning sounds from my audio.

Fair point; its easy to start with the suggestions on how to take it further and not quite get around to saying from the outset, "this is great work!"

I really liked this animation. Thanks EnDee321 for sharing it with us.

"The Animator's Workbook", by Tony White, if you can get your hands on it from a bookshop or library. Brilliant piece, I love the art & the camera work. As people have said, the movement would be a good thing to work on. (My work isn't any better really but I'm less objective about my ...

I think tutorial 4.4 is what you're after? If not could you give us a few more details of what you're trying to achieve. By the way, you'll find that half the answers in this forum are "go over the tutorials again". I've been through them 5 times now and I'm still learning new things each ...

Doing contour shading

One of the reasons I'm doing shading is to add a few contours and to specifically show how light from a window reaches the characters. If you want "quick & dirty" shading then its fairly easy - duplicate at an offset, or just use the Layer properties to choose layer shading options. Bu...

wow

That does look really good. I've started to experiment with a translucent white or black shape over each other shape in the image; and adjusting it with bones then by hand. It works really well, but it's nearly doubled the drawing effort on each key frame. Oh well, the price we pay... I experimented...

2 color character shading

Hi, I'm 6 seconds into my animation and I like the color and movement I've achieved, but want to add a darker shade to part of the characters to hint at fuller shape and lighting situations. I managed a simple one-layer shaded mask over the entire animation but to get all the different layers having...
