PresentaVid is a much simplier tool (only for Windows), but has some cute publishing features, because it was made by the company that specialising on media convertion as i know . It is a much more like a video presentation tool, rather than a video editor, but also deserves a look.

have you tried any third party software for this?
I have not experienced any problems with Video To Flash Converter PRO at geovid.com

i know Flash To Video Encoder PRO version be geovid can grab images in various formats from a flash file. but its not a freeware, but the trial is fully functional. so you can try it out.
