Re: Upgrading from 5.6 to 9

Thanks heyvern - ran the test and got the 'Yay' messaage, so that's OK. Now just need to decide between Pro (my old 5.6) and Debut for 9. It's been a LONG time since I used AS, so have forgotten a lot and thus need to do a lot of browsing to see what Debut can do. May go that way first and if my old...

Upgrading from 5.6 to 9

Anyone upgraded from ASPro 5.6 to the latest release - and what the cost is .... or does it have to be bought as a new product seeing that 5.6 is now an old release?

Quick query - with the release of v.7, have Smith Micro now removed v.6 from being downloadable as an upgrade from v5.6? The latest version doesn't appeal as I have no interest in moving towards the elements of 3d they seem to be developing.

The SERIAL GENERATOR seems to not work!" I'd forgotten that one - yes, I've had that on a number of occasions for both AS and other software that I use. It's one thing that these folks expect you to hand over something you paid hard cash for, but it's something else when they start to blame yo...

Amazing, the folks who expect you to GIVE registration codes

Is it cost or a symptom of the 'everything for nothing' attitudes in society - but I'm constantly surprised at the number of PM's I get via Youtube from people who expect me to give them the registration codes for software that I paid for and use. One prawn even sent a message saying 'Send me the c...

I hate these types of posts. You see them on forums all the time. They are written in the heat of the moment, way too soon. You should write this and sit on it for a few days or weeks. Vern is right. I've been guilty of making those 'Goodbye' I'm off' messages in the past. You then end up feeling l...

Good to know the admin people of this forum are on the ball. I used to contribute regularly to the Artoonix forum which also uses the phpBB Group format and although they're pretty good at removing any actual spam or pointless posts, they have repeatedly refused to do anything about the massive (tho...

In another post, I asked if anyone knew if AS was being used for any major animation projects. Up until then I'd not really encountered much apart from experiments, demos, first tries and short projects - but then one responder mentioned the Freakish Kid website. I took a look and ........ ' awestru...

If you hadn't associated them with AS, I'd have assumed the MDMA animations were made with Flash - very smooth work.

Interesting samples - but who's used AS for a major project?

I was browsing this part of the forum with a friend when she said, "There's some interesting stuff here, but has Anime Studio been used for anything big?" By that she meant either an actual animated film or at least a fully developed short animation feature. I couldn't answer the question....

You can download it and get a full refund before 30 days. Surely you don't mean that they collect money from your cards just when you're testing it, and then refund it if you choose not to buy? That's the implication of what was written. If they do that it's indefensible - it means they'd be gather...

I which they had not gone so deep into 3D. ASP is a 2D aniamtion package, well, it used to be, this is why I bought it in the first place, now it is an Hybrid 2d/3d package. The problem is, none of the 3D tools are at pro level, Many years ago, in school, I used a program called Tales Animator with...

Many things I do not like with this release, Such as ... ? There are clearly a lot of positives for v.7 - but what are the negatives? Mmmmm - having checked the download area in SmithMicro and after experimenting to see if my registration code for ASPro5 gives me access to the discounted upgrade ra...

Updates & upgrades thick and fast. How long before the n

I decided to hold fire after upgrading ASPro 5 to 5.6 because when v.6 came out there seemed to be a likelihood that an even more powerful version would be released very soon after. And so it has come to pass - a brand new Version 7. It looks good. It seems to do all sorts of things I'd like to try....

Still trying to decide whether to upgrade from 5.6 to 6
Like other members who have commented here, I'm strictly an amateur so am not yet convinced that it's worth me shelling out the upgrade fee and if it's a case of a MASSIVE download, I think I might just pass.
